This is a gourmet Peruvian restaurant with limited selection on the menu, and it is more of tapas style, so small plates. If you are hungry then the price may go up quite a bit since would have to order many plates but if you are in the area and want to try different flavors, created by a James Beard awarded chef then it is fine. The ceviche clásico was delicious and bursting in flavor and the best one i liked. The cuttlefish was second in taste for me. The half chicken was a bit salty for my taste. I have a shrimp allergy, so the waitress Nia was incredible in making sure I didn't eat any of the foods with possible contamination. That day unfortunately many of the foods was cross contaminated so I couldn't try some plates but I was very appreciative that she really went out her way to make sure I stayed away from plates I shouldn't eat. I tried the fresas dessert but it was too liquidy for me like soup.

Absolut surprise, highly recommended! The Tortiras de Choclo are similar to arepitas dulces, the Bluefin Tuna is one of the best tiraditos in Miami, the Oysters are soooo goooood!!! the Corn is a must as side to any meat. The Milanesa is big, easily for 2 people and recommended, the Skirt steak was the only dish that just felt good/ok. For dessert the Picarones are fried Donuts with a honey like sauce.

Maty’s is amazing. We went there for a birthday dinner and had a great time. The size of the restaurant makes it easy to book but also opens it up to kids, which is a downside. There were a few crying babies around. The waiters were friendly, warm and nice. The raw and vegetable menu was our favorite. While the main menu was good, it wasn’t as punchy as the others. Huge props to the crudo, cauliflower and sweet potato dessert!

Our dinner at Maty’s during their collaboration with Itamae Residency was a truly memorable experience—one that hit all the right notes, from inventive cocktails to unforgettable service and beautifully executed dishes. We began with cocktails that immediately set the tone. My husband had the Master Pandan—a creative mix of rum and toasted popcorn that was as delicious as it was unique. I went for a spicy margarita with nordello peppers and absolutely loved it. Just the right balance of heat and citrusy brightness. To start, we shared nigiris and a ceviche clásico, both incredibly fresh and vibrant. We then moved on to a variety of recommended dishes that made for a well-rounded and exciting meal. The standout for me was the Pulpo al Olivo—perfectly cooked octopus with a rich, addictive sauce that I’m still dreaming about. Other favorites included the bluefin tuna tiradito, a refreshing salad with sesame dressing, and a crisp, flavorful snapper katsu. Though we were comfortably full, we wanted the full experience—and ended with the smoked plantain and sweet potato dessert. We rarely order dessert, but this was absolutely worth it. A beautiful balance of sweet, smoky, and creamy that ended the meal on a high note. But what truly set this experience apart was the service. Our waitress, Nai, was incredibly well-trained, attentive, and genuinely engaged throughout our visit. Every staff member who delivered a dish made a point to connect with us—even if briefly—and it made the entire evening feel warm and intentional. Both my husband and I work in restaurants ourselves, so we always appreciate good service when we see it—and this was above and beyond. Combined with stunning food and a welcoming vibe, Maty’s and Itamae Residency delivered a night we won’t forget. Highly, highly recommended.

If you’re looking for fantastic Peruvian food, this place won’t disappoint. The food is incredible, with fresh, vibrant flavors and thoughtful preparation. The ceviche is perfectly balanced, with tender, fresh grouper. Their chicken Milanese stands out—it’s crunchy, juicy, and paired with a creamy, flavorful rice. The pork chops, with a unique sauce and smooth chickpea paste, are equally impressive. Don’t skip the house-made sauces if you can handle the spice—they’re bold and fresh. While the servers are friendly, service can be slower than you might hope. That said, the generous family-style portions make it worth the wait, and the prices reflect the quality and size. With a great atmosphere and plenty of parking, it’s ideal for big groups or family dinners.

I had a fantastic time at Maty’s, where the Itamae Residency is taking place this summer. The cozy ambiance made it the perfect spot to enjoy some solo time at a corner hightop booth. I was on my way elsewhere when I passed by and was greeted by Liz, I felt compelled to stay and dine here. A quick glance at the menu outside also sealed the deal forsure. Highlights for me were the hotate (scallop) nigiris, royale cebiche, and lobster roll, each dish packed with flavor and beautifully prepared. Natalie and David were wonderful bartenders, and chatting with Laz about the restaurant’s story & our experiences in the industry added something really special to the night. I love how each staff member really took their time to make sure I had a great time. For dessert I asked the team to surprise me, and they chose the mille-feuille with chancaca ice cream, a nice twist on the French pastry, created by James Beard Award-winning Chef Valerie Chang. It was the perfect ending. Every part of the experience felt personal and thoughtfully done. Next stop, AO for omakase

Nice option for dinner in midtown! Interesting flavors and beautiful presentation, definitely a restaurant worth visiting at least once. I got scallop as an appetizer and teres major (steak) as my main, but still was a bit hungry. Luckily, the delicious donuts (Picarones) were very satisfying as a desert. That was probably my favorite dish on the entire menu. The service was excellent. Menu is updated quite frequently, so can always come back for new dishes.

Had an amazing time at Maty's, great music and food. Loved the ceviche, chicken, broccolini, and the mussels (on their happy hour menu) were out of this world. The attention to detail is there, beautiful venue. Their menu does change from time to time which I am a fan of, a lot of restaurants are doing this these days and its a great way to keep it spicy, exciting and fun.
